Police
“Police” – adapted from the play by Polish playwright Slawomir Mrozek, is a dark political satire that takes place in a fictional authoritarian state. A group of police officers who encounter a civilian who has committed a seemingly minor offense and happens to be the only prisoner in the country. However, as the officers interrogate and attempt to enforce their version of justice, the situation spirals into absurdity.
The play explores themes of power, control, conformity, and the arbitrary nature of authority. Through the play Mrozek offers a critique of oppressive systems and the individuals who enforce them.
